A Ato Abstrato - Galeria de Arte is pleased to present an exhibition by Gonçalo Jardim.

Gonçalo Jardim's work grows from his interior, from the knowledge that is refined with time and autonomizes himself in the search for the encounter with the world. The geometry of his sculptures is enriched by the proximity of the fleeting instant. At his fingertips the works as the trees are consumed in their living construction, fixed in silence and suspended in the light.

Gonçalo Jardim was born in 1964, Lisbon. He attended the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon (1987-1992). Along side the teaching activity at the University of Évora, where he has been teaching since 2002, the artist produces and exhibits regularly, having participated in numerous collective and individual exhibitions in Portugal and abroad.

A obra de Gonçalo Jardim cresce a partir do seu interior, do conhecimento que se apura com o tempo e se autonomiza à procura do encontro com o mundo. A geometria das suas esculturas é enriquecida pela proximidade do instante fugaz. Na ponta dos seus dedos as obras tal como as árvores consomem-se na sua viva construção, fixadas no silêncio e suspensas na luz.

Gonçalo Jardim nasceu em 1964, Lisboa. Frequentou a ESBAL – Escola Superior de Belas-Artes de Lisboa (1987-1992). A par da atividade docente na Universidade de Évora, onde leciona desde 2002, o artista produz e expõe com regularidade, tendo participado em inúmeras exposições coletivas e individuais em Portugal e no estrangeiro.
